La Sal
Located to the South and East of Moab, La Sal/Old La Sal offers privacy, breathtaking scenery, and an independent spirit. Located just thirteen miles west of the Colorado/Utah border, the community of La Sal was traditionally settled by ranchers. Outdoor activities are limited by only your imagination, with the majestic peaks calling year-round, and red rock and white water adventures an easy distance away. Hiking, camping, snow shoeing, hunting, fishing, and more, are essential components of the La Sal lifestyle, as is a desire to be a part of a small and special community, tucked away from the busy-ness of life.
What Can I Expect?
Open land, lodging establishments, single family homes, and more are offered in the La Sal market. Utilities will vary by location, with power and telephone in most areas. Wells or other subdivision water systems are required, as are septic systems; there is no municipal water or sewer service. Many of the roadways are gravel, and are maintained by San Juan County. The County Seat is Monticello, located 42 miles to the southwest; Moab is approximately 32 miles to the northwest. There is a small elementary school, fire station, post office, and convenience store in town. Additional educational, shopping, medical, and other services are located in both Monticello and Moab.
